There is a Japanese art form called kintsugi — repairing broken pottery with gold, so that the cracks become the most beautiful part of the piece. The hard years, the places where life has come apart — those aren't failures. Those are the places we repair with love. The meaning behind the name
About
I'm Rick — a licensed therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience, a husband, and a father. I've worked as lead clinician, clinical supervisor, and regional director across community mental health before building this practice.
I work primarily with adults navigating recovery, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.
How I Work
My approach is integrative — meaning the methods we use are shaped around you, not the other way around. By using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and CBT principles, we work with your mind, not against it.
01
No single method fits every person. I draw from ACT, CBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness — selecting and combining what actually fits your situation and goals.
02
A core part of our work: learning to hold difficult thoughts and feelings without being run by them. Making room for what's hard so it stops running the show — and clarifying what actually matters to you.
03
Insight only goes so far. We work toward actual movement — small, consistent steps in directions that matter to you. That's where lasting change lives.
